A unique immersion in the world of ceramics and abstraction

Created in 1977, the museum pays tribute to Alberto Magnelli, a major 20th-century abstract painter, close to the Surrealists and artists of the Côte d'Azur. His donation has made it possible to build up an exceptional collection of paintings, collages and drawings that interact with the ceramic history of Vallauris.

The museum is organized into several complementary areas:
- The Magnelli Museum, dedicated to the artist's evolution towards geometric abstraction.
- The Museum of Ceramics, The exhibition retraces the history of local pottery from Neolithic times to the present day.
- The castle chapel, home to the monumental work War and Peace by Picasso, a committed fresco created in 1952.

Among the treasures to be discovered, visitors can admire :
- Alberto Magnelli's vibrant, geometric canvases
- Traditional Provencal and Mediterranean ceramics
- Contemporary pieces by great 20th-century ceramists
- Unique creations combining innovation, design and artisan heritage
- Picasso's impressive fresco, testimony to his commitment to peace

A place of heritage and creation, the museum also offers temporary exhibitions, and ceramic workshops, and guided tours and cultural events throughout the year.
