Maeght Foundation in Saint Paul de Vence

A unique immersion in modern and contemporary art

The fruit of a visionary project, the Maeght Foundation was designed by Catalan architect Josep Lluís Sert in close collaboration with the artists themselves. Today, it houses an exceptional collection of works by Miró, Giacometti, Braque, Calder, Chagall and Léger. Visitors move between brightly-lit rooms, tree-lined patios and sculpted gardens, in an interior and exterior layout perfectly integrated into the landscape.

With over 13,000 works conserved, the Foundation offers a unique insight into the artistic movements of the 20th century, and regularly hosts temporary exhibitions of international renown.

Among the treasures to be discovered, visitors can admire :
- Miró's labyrinth, a magical sculpture-garden
- Alberto Giacometti's slender statues in the central courtyard
- Georges Braque's stained glass windows in the chapel
- Calder's mobiles suspended under roofs of light
- Original paintings and drawings by Bonnard, Léger and Chagall
- Daring temporary exhibitions dedicated to the great names in contemporary art

Designed as a living space, the Maeght Foundation also organizes concerts, readings, conferences and workshops, perpetuating the spirit of sharing and creation intended by its founders.
