Clinging to the cliffside overlooking the Mediterranean, the Monaco Oceanographic Museum is one of the world's most emblematic marine museums. Founded in 1910 by Prince Albert I, a pioneer of modern oceanography, this majestic museum combines scientific collections, spectacular aquariums, interactive exhibits and a commitment to protecting the oceans. Built on the Rock of Monaco, 85 meters above the waves, the museum is a veritable temple to the ocean. Over 6,000 m² of exhibition space international reference collection, The collection is enriched by the scientific expeditions of Prince Albert I and the programs carried out by the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco.
The museum offers a captivating tour, combining history of maritime exploration, marine biodiversity, tropical and Mediterranean aquariums, and immersive spaces on climate issues and species preservation.
