Nestled at 1 rue de la Préfecture in Vieux Nice, Type 55 is a modern address where high-end pizza is boldly reinterpreted. Opened just a few years ago, it has established itself as a local reference for gourmet pizzas, inventive cocktails and surprising desserts.
There's no fixed menu here: imaginative pizzas with often original flavors, complemented by a variety of dishes such as calamari sautéed in mascarpone, veal cheek confit or grilled octopus. All served in an elegant, precise style, revealing the product without artifice. The three-course lunch menu is priced at around 20 euros, making it an excellent value according to guest feedback.
The house cocktails - such as the pearito or espresso martini - are a real highlight, as are the desserts, which are often so gourmet that they make you crave them even after a hearty meal.
The decor is modern and warm, the welcome friendly and efficient. Service is often described as smiling, in keeping with the tone, and adapted to the young, dynamic spirit of the place.
